NAI BA is a brand that centers around the exciting technique of "milk washing", where mixing and straining milk and alcohol smoothes and refines the taste of the resulting drink. NAI BA also prides itself on its Chinese roots and emphasizes traditionally Chinese flavors from the star anise and sichuan peppers in its signature bitters to the iconic baijiu liquor that is used in their premade cocktail mixes.
The goal of this design was to feel energetic, modern and fresh while also paying homage to heritage through its retro colors and usage of halftones and other textures. The result is a bold, lively, and symbolic bitters label.

RIGHT:
Early iterations of the label, playing with traditional new years symbols such as the inverted 福 (Fu) sign and geometric shapes representing the core flavors and ingredients in the bitters.
The prevalence of geometric shapes in these iterations tie back to the usage of the bitters as a key ingredient in the rest of the brand's products and how it acts as a building block for the rest of the flavors to bounce off of.
